Pioneer 90.1 is the college radio station for Northland Community & Technical College in East Grand Forks and Thief River Falls, Minnesota. They needed a new logo for the station that was clean, professional, and represented the college well. It also needed to work well for their music style, which includes a variety of different types of music. We used the circular “N” symbol from Northland’s logo, and kept the same color scheme as the college itself, to keep the connection between the college and the station strong. We used a modern sans serif typeface that gives the logo a strong and professional look. We also added some radio waves above the logo to show the nature of what they do. Overall, the logo is strong and will work well in many applications.
